1. Be prepared for the noise! There will be constant hammering for one or more days, depending on the size of your roof.
  2. Keep small children and pets away from the work area, tools and equipment.
  3. Remove all loose items from wall shelves and walls: pictures, plates, and figurines. Hammering may create vibrations that will shake these items off the shelves or walls.
  4. Remove all items from around the house where roofing debris or bundles of shingles might fall: patio and pool furniture, potted plants, and gardening equipment. Leaves or blooms may be knocked off the plants near your home during the job. We try to protect the plants, but oftentimes damaged landscaping is unavoidable.
  5. We will need access to your driveway to load material onto the roof, as well as to park a trailer for the old roof debris. Please park your cars, motorcycles, bicycles, boats, etc. away from the driveway.
  6. For each day that rain or snow is expected, work on your roof will be delayed. Family Roofing crews are instructed not to tear off more shingles than they can replace in order to avoid interior damage.
  7. When an old roof is removed, especially multiple layers, a tremendous amount of weight is taken off the frame of your home. This can cause slight movements of your rafters and beams. This shifting may cause small stress cracks in your ceiling. This is an unavoidable occurrence for which we are not responsible.
  8. Occasionally shingles have been sealed to the sidewalls. Age along with moisture saturation can rot the wood. During the removal of shingles along walls, paint removals and chipping of the stucco or wood may occur. Family Roofing is not responsible for this unavoidable occurrence.
  9. Nails that fall from the roof during the job will be picked up with a nail roller. We will make every effort to pick up all nails. Please be advised, however, that a few nails which are hidden in the grass or shrubbery may remain. Have caution when first mowing the lawn after the re-roof process.
  10. We will need access to an electrical outlet for the compressors. Most houses have an electrical outlet outside of the house. If not, we will need to run an extension cord through a window from inside the house.
  11. Precautions are taken to prevent gutter damage. However, there are instances when damage to gutters is unavoidable, especially on very steep roofs or ones that are completely surrounded by gutters.
  12. When a satellite dish is present on the roof, it will need to be removed during the re-roof process. We will attempt to reset the satellite dish in the same location after the re-roof is completed. Being that we do not have access to proper satellite orientation equipment, it is possible that your satellite dish will not be oriented properly and thus will not work correctly. In this case, you will have to call your satellite TV company to re-orient the dish. This usually incurs a fee of $50 from the satellite TV company. Please supply Family Roofing with a copy of this bill and we will reimburse you for the charge.
  13. The Homeowner is responsible for checking that the material type and color is approved by the local HOA, if need be.
